The Catalyst Community
Connection and community form the backbone of Catalyst High School. Community partnerships guide our unique alternative educational model for students who attend from cities throughout Colorado’s front range and the Denver metro area. From interpersonal connections between students and teachers, to collaborative efforts in our school community, to the ever expanding network of our community partners, Catalyst is defined by community in action.
“It has been such an honor to collaborate with Catalyst, and to bear witness to such an amazing school. For over 25 years, I have worked with high risk and underserved youth – helping them find hope and feel personal success through the expression of art. I firmly believe the safe space that Sent(a)Mental Studios and Catalyst create both separately and together are absolutely essential to our community.
It is rare to find a school where the staff and students maintain an environment that truly allows students to explore their own independence, internal values, creativity, and intelligence, and I appreciate the opportunity to work with the school.”

“Our partnership with Catalyst has resulted in direct, hands-on working relationships between Catalyst students and numerous leaders in our community – what a “booster rocket” into the real world! CCTV54 loves it, and the Catalyst students do as well. We’re pleased to be in such a positive symbiotic relationship with this extraordinarily unique Boulder County high school.”
Frank Herman, CCTV54
“I wanted to take a moment to say how great it was to have you your teachers and the GREAT STUDENTS that you brought to the gardens. It was a fantastic sight to see you and your students in the gardens celebrating and connecting to the Earth. The wonderful energy and caring you all brought to the space was fantastic. Thank you all so much. Please let your students know how much I appreciated having them!!!!”
Larry C. Dietrich, Growing Gardens
“Bicycles for Humanity, Colorado is thrilled to be partnering with Catalyst High School. This will make an incredible impact to our partners in South Africa. I’m especially grateful that we have this opportunity to work with the students. I believe the project will provide them with a life-long time memorable experience. I hope that the students will feel the same level of empowerment and passion for making a difference that I’ve been lucky to have with the B4H Colorado.”
